Christian Fellowship of Toledo

Women's Ministries

Women's ministries are designed to help women of all ages live out the richness of their womanhood through development of:

(1) a vital relationship with God

(2) close relationships with others

(3) their gifts for the purpose of serving others.

There are three aspects: spiritual growth, serving others, and special events.

  • Spiritual growth: You are encouraged to be involved in a Bible study. There are several through the Christian Fellowship (see below) or you can contact one of the community Bible studies such as Bible Study Fellowship. We also encourage a personal "quiet time" in Bible study, prayer, and involvement in the prayer chain. Contact Betty Bice .
  • Serving and Caring: If you're new to the Fellowship, here are some opportunities to serve: during the fellowship time on Sunday morning, the nursery or toddler rooms, providing meals for the sick or for new parents, bridal and baby showers, and helping in the kitchen. There are also opportunities to pray for others and to reach out to those with special needs. As our small groups are developed, many opportunities to provide care, hospitality, and love will be presented. An aspect of care for others is now called "Care for the hurting." Contact Barb Bernhard.
  • Special events: These include a summer weekend retreat, periodic mini-retreats, coffees, and receptions for visiting missionaries. Friends and family members are often welcomed to these events and a salvation message included. There are many others. Contact Judy Baker.
  • Coordinator: Ellen Lemke

Mentoring and Discipleship

Encouragement for the hurting is a ministry to provide extra care, encouragement, love, and prayer support for women who are going through a specific time-usually one to six months-of particular trial. This service is offered with confidentiality and the respect for privacy that is so necessary when someone is coping with spiritual difficulties, marital problems including divorce, illness or bereavement, an unwanted pregnancy, or any extraordinary burden. Luke 10:30-37.

Women's Mentoring is a ministry whereby older women can pass their wisdom to younger women (ref. Titus 2:3-5).
